Tension headaches regularly affect 1 in 5 people.

There is no single cause for tension headaches. This type of headache is not an inherited trait that runs in families.

So, where does this unnecessary tension come from?

Majority of tension headaches are caused by tightened muscles in the
back of the neck and scalp. This muscle tension may be caused by:

  1. ‍Inadequate rest
  2. Poor Posture
  3. Emotional or mental stress
  4. Anxiety
  5. Fatigue
  6. Hunger
  7. Over-exertion
  8. Low iron levels

Pin-pointing your initial trigger and managing it will be your best solution to preventing tension-related headaches. In the meantime, here's a simple stretch that will relieve discomfort and stiffness caused by tension headaches.
